(I have been looking at these sandy feet all wrong.) Since installing a swingset with a sandbox, I am sweeping a lot of sand. It seems to be scratching the floors. I sometimes get annoyed about this.
Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. John 13:14
Sally Clarkson uses this scripture elegantly in
The Mission of Motherhood to explain servant leadership. The repetitive tasks of motherhood aren't meaningless--they are a chance to model a servant's heart.

When I uploaded these photos I was reminded that Luke is still little. The images of the feet alone remind me to look past the mess and embrace the joy of childhood. Could I even learn to embrace the mess and not just look past it? He won't be this little for long. God was humble enough to serve me and wash me clean--the least I can do is sweep up another 1/4 cup of sand with a good attitude.

Kim, I love this entry. You have such a beautiful calling to love and serve these little ones. May the Lord give you grace and perspective to be all there knowing that all these days count. Great seeing Caroline today for a second. Much love!
So, so sweet. Great post, Kimberly. A much-needed reminder for all Mommas.

Thank you, Kimberly. I needed that.
Perfect Attitude! And timely, considering I had a shoe fight with the 11 year old recently. Beautiful feet & beautiful Mom!
