The first thing we did on Christmas was let the kids open their stockings. Luke is still fairly unaware of the Santa thing because we made an effort not to play the issue up. He did enjoy his stocking, however. Unfortunately, I did not plan ahead very well and we didn't really have much that fit inside the stocking! We had gotten him some playmobil vehicles, and that was what was in his stocking. (I have since hidden all the toys Michael and I gave him because of the great extravagance of our extended family. We have experienced a stuff explosion). Some rainy afternoon those playmobil toys will make their appearance again. I was all excited about the playmobil, though, because it isn't made in China.

Caroline was simple to please. In brainstorming her stocking, I remembered what we did for Luke at this age. Here she has spied the stocking.

Brand recognition at 11 months old! It's some puffs!

Those are some awesome kids. Great job Kim!
Caroline spying her stocking is just darling! We hid most of our kids' toys too. Won't it be fun to get it all out 6 months from now? Like Christmas in July!
What a good idea to put the stocking out there for her like that. Puffs!!! YES. Luke is doing his crazy man smile. You know, I'm all about not playing up the Santa thing. My boss was telling me how she's so careful with the Santa stuff that her 10 year old daughter still believes in Santa. I just wanted to be like, "Um, does she get made fun of at school?" I love my family. Man, ya'all are so down to earth. No crazy parents here--just cool ones that don't brainwash their kids with Santa-itis.
