Nation's Triathlon

On September 12, Michael completed the Nation's Triathlon to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. I traveled to DC to support him and his team from LLS Team in Training. Each Team in Training participant raises at least $3500 for the Leukemia society, has special training programs and events, and participates in an endurance event. Michael was part of the Racing for Gage team, in honor of our pastor's son who has fought leukemia and just finished his treatment. Team Gage (33 friends) raised $175,000 for LLS!

This Olympic distance tri was a 1.5K swim, 40K bike, and 6.2 mile run. Michael finished in just over 2:29, which was under his goal time. It was simply amazing to see so many friends finish such a long race! I was really proud of them.

The race morning was really rainy and a little cold! I did not get very many pictures. Well, I did not get any pictures! Michael was going faster than he had told me to expect, so I missed seeing him on the bike. By the time I realized I must have missed him on the bike, he had finished the run also. I missed the finish line too!
