We are here!

The blog has been a casualty of morning (well, in my case, morning/afternoon/night) sickness. I hope to be turning the corner SOON. I am 13 weeks along with this pregnancy. The nausea has been unpleasant, but it has not been as severe as it was with Caroline's pregnancy.

Here are some pictures of the kids jeepin' in the back yard. Dad drives a green jeep, and Luke received this toy as a gift for Christmas from Nonna and Doc. Luke is really good at driving it. . .Caroline is fascinated with "driving," but runs into things a lot. It's not officially a two passenger vehicle, but sometimes they share the seat when feeling friendly.

Caroline is finally growing some hair. I am just itching to put it in pigtails, but it's not long in the right places! I am trying to decide if it will look better if I cut it a little bit or not. I guess she doesn't look too sloppy yet. Caroline now prefers girl toys like babies and purses. She is also VERY knowledgeable about her trucks and trains due to having a big brother. She is a renaissance woman. One of the funny things she does right now is saying the affirmative version of a statement while shaking her head no. For example "want this song" (while shaking head no) means I don't want this song. She uses this technique a lot. She has also started singing on pitch pretty reliably. She can sing the alphabet song with a few errors, and can sing Twinkle Twinkle with the same tune. I have heard her improvise her own lyrics to that tune as well, usually repeating something she wants to do, like swinging. She likes to put -y on the end of lots of words. Milky, drinky, sockies, etc.

The kids play well together most of the time. One of their favorite games is "baby beluga," where they feed and role play with their stuffed beluga whales. It all started with the Raffi song, Baby Beluga, and gifts of beluga stuffed animals from the Georgia aquarium.

Luke is also doing well. He loves trains and construction trucks (not much change there). He can be entertained in his sandbox for a solid hour with no adult input. He just cannot resist digging and sometimes gets caught digging in unauthorized places in the yard. He's doing fabulous with his speech (reached all his goals and then some). He's a sweet big brother to C. He started sleeping in a big boy twin bed this week (was in a toddler bed before now). In his words, "I had so much fun sleeping in my big boy bed." His challenge for the month has been his behavior when he's with his best buddy. Apparently the two of them have been disruptive at preschool. We're talking about that and working on it!

Hope to do more updates in the future. I just haven't been taking many photos and much of my free time has been spent resting!

Kim, that was a great entry! Thanks for all the updates. Most of all, I'm glad that Baby Beluga crosses generations. No lie, I found myself singing it at church the other day. I was by myself...not in worship or anything :o) See you guys soon.
