We belong to the unofficial chair club on our block. It started as a joke when two neighbors bought the same chairs. Then we all started buying up these inexpensive adirondack chairs. It grew into a real community builder, as neighbors young and old sit outside and enjoy the pleasant evenings. Many gatherings are impromptu, and some are planned in advance. Some families have young kids, some have teenagers, some are young couples with no children, and some are grandparents! Last weekend we had the first chair club movie night. At 7:30, we had the Lion King as a family movie. Then, at 10pm there was a grownup movie--U2 live at red rocks. A good time was had by all--excessive candy was consumed, and the kids bundled up under blankets as the March night was a bit chilly.
