We had a fun week leading up to Easter. It was our first official spring break--Luke's class didn't meet last week. We headed to the arboretum Monday, went to an egg hunt at church on Thursday, had an egg hunt for our community group at our house on Friday, went to ANOTHER egg hunt at uncle Josh's church Saturday, and had Easter lunch and a few eggs to hunt on Sunday to round out a week of total sugar depravity! Like my dental parents always used to say, as long as you brush your teeth the sugar won't hurt them! I am ashamed to admit that my 13 month old knows all about jelly beans and M&M's (Luke was so sheltered from all good treats at this age) and she grunts, points, and writhes whenever she sees the Easter eggs sitting in the kitchen.
I have a great new lens for the camera, but I am not getting very good shots lately because my subjects are in constant motion. Need to take a class.
Luke is old enough this year to begin to grasp what happened to Jesus on Good Friday and Easter. We painted it all in broad strokes, but it was very exciting when I asked Luke what Jesus did for us and he said "He laid down his life."
We are working on this memory verse, which was read at our wedding and is also a great Easter verse: "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us." 1 John 3:16a

Very cute pics! Luke told me all about the Easter eggs at Church on Sunday. It was so fun to have him in my class again.
