School

Luke began a preschool program this month! He is in a class where he will be working on his articulation (pronunciation) as he is not making all the sounds he should for his age. However, he talks all day long and his vocabulary and language are excellent. In his class they will focus on a "sound of the week" and will be bombarded with this sound--craft, snack, books, activities will all be based around this sound. He will also get speech therapy for his own specific personal goals. We were very excited about this program, and we were even more delighted when we learned that the teachers of both sections go to our church! What a blessing. So far it has just been excellent. Luke attends for two hours twice a week.
I could not resist a first day of school pic with his little backpack.
Here is Luke when he came out to meet me after his first day. He is showing me his craft. . .

They made Goo! It came home in a cute labeled bag! He informed me that he ate goldfish and graham crackers. You now know they were working on a hard g sound. As another example, last week they were working on the /ch/ sound. They read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom, made a chick, made a "chicka" tree colored with chalk, said cheese when taking pictures, etc. It's a cute way to make the work fun for kids so little.

He looks so excited about school! Isn't it awesome how excited kids are about learning? Learn your little heart out, Luke.
