As parents, we had the privilege of giving Luke the FIRST birthday gifts! When he woke up on the big day, we had two wrapped packages at his place at the table. He received the "up and away" bridge expansion pack and Alfie the excavator. He was thrilled with both!
This year he was really able to anticipate and yearn for his birthday. He started counting down around Caroline's birthday (two weeks prior), upset that it wasn't his turn yet. I think we learned some lessons in patience and delayed gratification. . .possibly.
