It's her party. . .

Caroline received the hat as a present at preschool. She insisted on wearing it for about 3 days. We had a family birthday celebration at a pizza restaurant. Lest you think she was in a sour mood the entire party,

She actually did enjoy herself. She flitted from grandparent to grandparent to uncle to aunt, opened her presents, and generally had a grand time. She was tipped off about the cake/candle/birthday song procedure at school and so she played the shy and embarassed damsel and covered her face when the moment came.
Her birthday cake was a giant hot cookie with ice cream on top. It was delicious! We let her just dig in.

In case you can't tell from our descriptions of Caroline, she has become quite the strong personality. She is sweet, smiley, and charming much of the time. She also has her diva side. She is much better at being a two-year-old than Luke was (read: she seems to be experiencing the so-called terrible twos). We have made great progress with her and her fits of passion, but we expect that her strong personality is here for the long haul!
