We have been seeking out some cooler summer options with a group of friends and their kids. A couple of weeks ago we had the chance to try the Science museum for the first time. I had not been inside since I was a child, and it was fun to see what had changed (and some things that had not). Before we went to the museum, I told Luke he would get to see a farm. There is a little imitation farm there which was pretty fun for the kids. Luke brought along his tractor because he likes to be prepared. However, Luke was mainly interested in this big rig that shows how our food gets from the farm to the market. I think he was hoping for a little more hands-on digging and less education about produce, eggs and milk. Ironically, there WAS an actual dinosaur dig elsewhere, but he didn't want to do that. Three year olds are a mystery to me sometimes.

Caroline took advantage of more of the amenities. She milked a cow:

Loaded produce into her grocery bag:

Rode on a bulldozer (I can't really tell but I think that's what it was):

And experimented with the water table in the next room.

Then my camera ran out of batteries. Boo! There was also a "my house" area, a fire truck to climb on, and lots of other hands-on exhibits.
