Luke has wanted to self-feed since he first started solids at 6 months. No spoon feeding, please! That initially caused some problems because his physical skills weren't up to speed with his independent streak! We were just really patient with him and he learned to finger-feed quite quickly. He eventually let us spoon feed him--a little bit. He eats such a wide variety of foods and I believe it's because we really tried never to pressure him. Now he totally wants to feed himself his oatmeal, but he can't quite twist that wrist to make it work well!

Isn't he so handsome?

YES, so handsome. Love men with food all over their faces. I still usually slop my morning oatmeal somewhere... I'm reluctant to be spoon fed, though.
